Wilderness
by Wang Wei
Translated by Adam & Alvin Benatovich

Looking toward places,

I have never seen,

To sky and mountains,

Where I have never been.

No man is viewed,

In this wooded place.

Voices are heard clearly,

But never a face.

From descriptive prose,

Illuminated and serene,

Carpeted in green moss,

This vivid forest scene.

she talked

i smiled we drank

an hour or two or three;

the maryjane tranced our minds

we drank I thought we drank some more

no thoughts

i heard

the bells from her shoes;

we thought we wore four pair;

my thoughts were hers and hers were mine

mine soused, reading her touch

An Angel With Pigeon Feet.
Dad/1992

My father drove a pick up truck.

Earned a living at the local paper mill.

Lived in a small town,

where rock divided the top of a hill.

He was well known in this town.

Smiled and said "Good-day"! to people on the street.

Loved to chew the fat with his friends,

over coffee at least once a week.

He was a real character with a bold sense of humour

a diamond in the rough.

Jaded and warn around the edges,

but his heart wasn't that tuff.

Although his middle years were full of hard knocks

forcing him to retreat for a time,

un-prepared for the losses he suffered

found solace in drink and Wine.

Only to discover he wasn't a man of self pity, or given to defeat.

Found himself a hobby leaving the Whiskey underfoot.

He gathered a few animals and built an un-conventional farm.

With a few Pigeons and Pheasants,

and an old dog to protect the horse in the barn.

When the day his aging body had failed him.

Many came to pay their final respect's

discussing all the kind things he'd done

like lending his truck and paying a friends financial debts.

Although father wasn't a Church member,

believing the walls would fall in on him for the bad things

he'd done.

He must have met God somewhere, simply for his selflessness

and courage to overcome.

In fact I don't know if there are Angels humble enough to walk our

carnal streets.

But if there were they'd probably dress in old work clothes

and walk with Pigeon feet.

You Taught Me
for my mom
By Sami Lyn Lenel

You made me what I am today.

Through the laughter and the tears, you made me.

You taught me what was right and wrong.

Through the good times and the bad times, you made me.

You taught me honesty and truthfulness.

Though the troubles I've caused, you made me.

You taught me the meaning of my life.

Through my ups and downs, you made me.

You were right there through everything.

You were by my side, each and every day of my life.

Through my rough and crazy hours, you were there.

I can't think of anything else to say to you than.........

Thank You....

Oh so.....

Very Much.....

LICE
By ABS

They swarmed the dreads that lined her head

Infesting everything she stood for

She had to kill them - kill them dead

Or who she was would be no more

They stripped her of her individuality

Taking away her "special"

Now she sells bongs

At some loud music festival

She had to shave her dread locks

The bugs just would not die

She cut them and saved them in a box

She poured herself hard liquor on the rocks

She sat and cried as what she stood for was cut away.

She'd grow back her identity

Maybe someday...

All due to a couple of lice.

THE AUTUMN LEAVES ARE FALLING
By Barbara Elaine Alyea

The autumn leaves are early,,,falling from the trees,,,
and so it was we parted,,,just like autumn with its breeze.

The autumn leaves,,were withered,,and so I did believe,,,
that you know longer loved me,,,as when our love was first conceived.

The autumn leaves are dying,,,and so am I my love,,,
I've never felt such sadness,,,cause I couldn't give enough.

Winter is coming to take ,,all it can from summer and fall,,,
you took everything that mattered to me,,and left me nothing at all.

The autumn leaves are falling,,,dying on the ground
and so am I,,,but no one knows,,,cause I am quite alone.

Blossoms of Love
By Sami L.

My love is like the blossoms of the apple tree.

It blooms to the extent of beauty beyond beauty.

My love resembles everything good about me.

My love takes on the meaning of me.

My love is like the blossoms of the apple tree.

It withers when the fruit of it's work comes to par.

My love cannot live without reassurance.

It just so comes about that my love is only meant for on thing.

You.

Always
by Guy Lee Byars

This world seems taken from a dream,

One thing focused, all else a haze;

And as unreal as it may seem,

I'd be content here all my days.

Exceeding my utmost desire,

Your love transcends expectations,

And cleanses me, a holy fire,

Joy beyond imagination.

There is not a possible way

That I could love you any more,

Yet I reach new heights every day,

I cannot fathom what's in store.

Always will I hold one thing true:

Monica, all I want is you.

THE OLD MG
by Barbara Elaine Alyea

The old MG lay rusted , its beauty long forgot.|
Then it came by a new owner, just interested in its parts.

He saw the way it used to be,,and felt the "old times", when,
it was drove around, just to be shown off, just like an "old friend."

So, he got it in his mind that day, to restore the "old car", just the way,
she would have looked like in her "Glory Days."

It wasn't too long, as the time passed,
he had her all sanded and polished like brass.

Then, she became the "Old Beauty", in its prime,
All because of that friend of mine.

Change
Laura West

A much needed feeling that I always crave.

I'm sick of the jumble of words and routines.

The endless 2 in the morning nights.

The sickeningly sweet goodness.

I want to grab that mold and

Throw it to the ground

No tears would appear

I would take my heal and revel

In the satisfying glass crunch.

And then I'm flying.

The air feels so cool and soothing.

I can tilt my chin up to the sky and thank god

Inferiority? Sorry I don't know what that is.

My hidden character plays the shocking role.

I dance the night away in my mixed up bliss.

Grabbing and moving like I have been sitting down for

Many monstrous years.

Unlimited muscle strength and the ability to meld to partners.

The lights swirl into beautiful new colors and bring new revelations.

I keep breathing hoping it's not the last breath.

I want to grab the moment, bottle it and save it for a rainy day

When the good colors are out of stock and only grays are swirling.

A Decent Book
-Mike Paniccia

Nothing beats, I've heard them say,

a decent book, on a rainy day.

Or a sunny day, or any type,

alone with a book, they don't seem to gripe.

But I must admit, I sometimes wonder,

how many books have they torn asunder?

Flipping, and flapping, and turning each way,

I feel sorry for the books at the end of the day.

They say that a storm is possibly brewing,

they'll sit this one out, and do some reviewing.

Get lost in the storm, and the ball game is over,

but lost in a book, and the world's off your shoulder.

If a disaster should strike, they'd read among the ruins,

the calamity unnoticed, they can't be unglued.

And so nothing can beat, or so they have said,

a decent book, that's inside your head.

On this heart of heart's day

I give my heart to you

I do this knowing that love isn't always

Perfect

For there are

"Off Days"

"Bad Days"

"Those Days"

But with you

There's a multitude of "Perfect Ones"

So let me love you Perfect Days or otherwise

The imperfections are best with you

And from there it only improves

You give me such a rise

So much peace and ease ... it's like

Soaring

My heart is safe

No one else need apply ...

My love is yours

Sonnet I
Richard

You are beautiful like a flower,

Your smile melts my heart,

You must have some kind of magic power,

I am sad when we are apart.

I know that I have not known you for that long,

You make it seem longer that it really is,

Please don't give me the gong,

For my feelings will never fizz.

I don't care what other people say,

You have done more for me than that of any other girl,

Every second without you is like a day,

You are more precious than a pearl.

You are really sweet,

You have beautiful eyes,

You have something that no other girl has that I will meet,

Every time I don't see you a little piece of me dies.

I will never forget you,

I will never stop thinking about you no matter where I am in life,

No matter what I do,

The pain cuts through me like a knife.

I hope that one day you and I can equal one,

I will wait for you wherever you may be,

It is you I want to be with for fun,

You mean so much to me.

Sweet, salty, smooth as a buttercup.

"Wonderland"
Kathryn Smith

I look at my own life

like the girl

who sees through the looking glass,

everything is ass-backwards

and upside down.

Just when I think I have a hold,

I keep falling down that damn rabbit hole

into wonderland.

I try crawling through the door

that will take me back home

but I keep getting stuck.

If I shrink myself

maybe I can slip away

from all this chaos and confusion.

Or maybe the cheshire cat

will show me

how to disappear completely.

----------------------------

They say, in space

that no-one can hear you scream.

It seems, down here on Earth

that no-one can hear my dreams

There's so much to say

but I can never find the words

and there's so little time

and so much cost incurred

Sometimes it looks so appealing

to take a coward's way out.

Drifting, with no feeling,

until the final spark winks out.

I need to shake off melancholia

and do something with my dreams,

shake off all this dead skin

and try to forget the screams.

Came to the end of the hallway,

looked into the next room

I know I heard someone talking.

She was asking questions,

and patiently waiting for my answer.

If only I could find her,

but it's so dark in here

and I forgot to take a candle;

I am such an idiot!

Grasping at pieces of darkness

while she continues to wait,

much more patient than I am.

So many things are wrong with me,

it's a wonder I haven't hurt myself

just trying not to hurt others...

or maybe I already have...wait,

there she is, I can see her,

the door is about to slam shut when she says,

"Why did you make me leave?"

Have you ever sat and listened,

Just sat and watched it glisten,

Have you heard the sound it makes,

Next time just sit and listen,

to the music of the rain.

And no matter what's wrong,

it will surly ease your pain.

What would happen, if?

You see your parents

You stay by your children

instead of running

You love your spouse

You accept who you are.

You hide the razor

You flush the drug

You live instead of dying.

Each day a simulation

You seek veracity

Rage an echo true withheld benevolence not so near

And of incredulous esteem you lavish purity

And of a purpose cleansing you convict morality

You are of evil born a putrid encrustation yes

You are of specious being god's creation none the less

A natural born mendacity your life a barren waste

Meanings now so idle an existence born in haste

I have no way to show to you such purposeful concealment

Or that in your putrescence there will be no form of ailment

Be gone you selfish skeptic fraud retract your cunning hand

Relieve us from your putrid greed unto another land

You are the lie intended

Devils bait you've blended

No profit here to make

Just bank a proven fake

POT NOODLES
Gordon Donne.

Pot noodles are crude, a terrible food and don't really taste as they should.
They're nasty and tough but I know well enough that they really should taste fairly good.

I've tried and I've tried the instructions supplied and followed them all to the letter.
But despite all the words and the hints that I've heard, I can't make them taste any better.

There's chicken and ham and beef and spam and others, of that I've no doubt.
But try as I might, it's not worth a light 'cos the noodles are not worth a clout.

There's a heaven somewhere and I'm well aware that noodles will be there as well.
But because of their taste, I feel it's a waste and I think they should end up in hell.

Nothing But Pain
anrabon

I thought that it was over,

The pain, hurt, and heartache.

But, no- you had more in store for me.

In fact, just about more than I could take.

After all the months of no contact,

You would call just to lead me on.

You had to be sure that my love you still had,

And that I was still alone.

I found out that you were hiding things from me,

Things that I should know.

Telling truth was never your strong point,

But the secrets hurt me so.

You had been gone for so long,

I still hoped that you hadn't found someone new.

I didn't want to believe the rumors,

Deep down, I knew they were true.

When you finally were able to come home,

I couldn't wait to see your face,

But, you weren't interested in contacting me.

You had found someone to take my place.

A stranger would never have your love.

This is what you'd always said.

Going back on yet another promise,

A stranger you had wed.

Someone you'd only known for two months,

Now had your last name.

I quickly felt hatred for this girl,

But, I realized that on her, I couldn't place the blame.

It wasn't her fault that you had moved on.

All she knew was how much she cared.

She was blind to you and I,

And didn't know of all we shared.

You knew of our relationship,

You knew that we weren't through.

If anyone was to blame,

It had to be you.

You weren't even man enough

To share your marriage with me.

Someone else had to deliver the blow

That you and I could never be.

I guess you couldn't bring yourself to tell

The one that you'd promised to come back for

That it was not her, but someone else,

That you were now living for.

I suppose that you thought that you'd been cruel enough,

And that you had caused more than your share of heartache.

I still don't understand why you didn't tell me-

There was nothing left of my heart to break.

You alone tore my heart into shreds.

Tiny fragments are all that stand

In the place where a happy heart once lived,

And was yours at demand.

But, you can no longer wound my heart,

For there is nothing left on which you can put strain.

You have finally killed it,

And left me with nothing but pain.

We close our eyes like it's a dream.

To this world we all belong.

to soar to the clouds above.

So i wait for the day,

When together we will love and pray.

I listen to the softly falling rain,

conjuring up this simple refrain :

Are all your days also spent

in regret and utter lament?

Slowly lifts the fog of memory

as distant thoughts of you and me

swirl in the recesses of my mind

to when heart and soul did once bind.

Your sweetness had me so enraptured,

such pure bliss I thought I'd captured.

My every aspiration knew no bound

and for once I felt I was found.

But fate must have somehow faltered,

and our destiny was cruelly altered,

leaving me lost in the wake

of a painfully harsh mistake.

Incessantly my mind does wander

causing me to languidly ponder :

Do your memories also remind

bringing thoughts of me to mind?

Whenever I close my eyes to cry,

I think of you and lie.

I lie to my flesh and blood,

I tell them I'm alive.

When I feel a tear emerge,

I hope for strength and pride,

Motivating my selfish heart,

To feel this pain I fight.

And when sanity deserts me,

I result in denial,

I tell my soul I'm rational,

I tell it I'm sublime.

But when I say I'm loved,

I consider what I've said,

Then I believe I'm faulted,

When I realize I'm dead.

CANT SAY

WHEN I FIRST SAW YOUR SMILING GORGEOUS FACE,

I KNEW THAT I WANTED TO GET TO KNOW YOU

I COULDN'T HELP BUT NOTICING THE EXPRESSION ON YOUR FACE

YOU WERE OLDER, BUT YOU DIDN'T CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THOUGHT

YOU WANTED A LIFE- THAT YOU ONCE KNEW

JUST LIKE YOU WERE THE LOVE I ONCE KNEW.

WE'VE TALKED, WE'VE LAUGHED HAD OUR FAIR SHARE OF FIGHTS

WE'VE SHARED SECRETS WE WOULD OF NEVER TOLD ANYONE ELSE

YET WHEN I TOLD YOU HOW BADLY I YEARNED FOR YOU

YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE DECENCY TO TELL ME WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF ME

I THOUGHT THAT YOU WERE ASHAMED OF WHAT I LOOKED LIKE

BUT THEN I LEARNED THAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF OUR AGE DIFFRENCE

I NEVER THOUGHT THAT HAD BOTHERED YOU

BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG

THERE IS NO CHANGING MINDS HERE

NO TURNING BACK

NO CONVINCING THAT WE CAN WORK THIS OUT

EVERYTHING WILL MAKE US BE APART

WE WILL STILL BE FRIENDS AS YOU FIRST SAID

BUT YOU ARE STILL THE LOVE I ONCE KNEW

I glimpsed hope

Camouflaged, veiled,

Dust-covered, damaged,

dull, her dime-store pot, carelessly broken,

was a most unlikely home

They vowed to us this ancient song,

Their ancient song of life,

Or so they called it-

Where there was pride, joy, and mystification...

But this song today is only a mere remembrance,

Of those who believed their ancient fairytales,

And pushed their senses of reality innately far,

Beneath the blackened dirt-

Where only the weeds of death grow to remain.

Where at the same time,

The irrational, spread their collection of fairy dust

Above those tainted weeds,

Only to return-

And bury themselves underneath their empty clouds of dust.

Which had once been their channels of hope,

But now by definition,

Can only be separated by ignorance-

Of how they decided to live and waste their lives...

As his life, and his life's began to sink to the bottom of the Atlantic under his feet.

A variety of people,

Some looking for a new life,

And finding an eternal one,

Did they have a fair chance?

The incident they call Titanic,

Brings up controversy all over the globe;

Did someone persuade the captain to pick up speed?

Why would someone be so selfish to put hundreds upon hundreds of lives in danger,

To show off Titanic's spectacular speed?

What ever happened to the accomplishment to have built such a ship;

A ship of dreams.

Next Time
Victoria Darke

I see him walking towards me.

I am blinded to everything else.

Now all I see is him and an endless downward spiral.

"Its just puppy love"

I feel inside churning me like butter.

He speaks,

it creates an ensemble of his voice and my thoughts.

Like a silent symphony played only for me.

The question burns like fire in my throat

and I hope my nerves of steel wont fail.

He opens his mouth to speak and my hopes arise.

Maybe he will ask.

"Can I borrow a pencil"

Maybe next time I will ask,

I assure my self as I hand him the graphite and painted wood.

Next time, always next time.

A Lesson in Love
Martin Koser

I Love you more, more than words can say,

For you Taught me to Love, to Love this way.

You opened my eyes, you opened my heart,

Showed me true Love, brought me out of the dark.

Now I hold you close, I hold you tight,

Thank you my luv, you showed me the light.

From this day forth, to the day that I die,

My heart beats for you, I promise no lie.

I've loved you my dear, from that very day,

For you taught me to Love, to Love this way.

I opened your eyes, I opened your heart,

Showed you true Love, brought you out of the dark.

Now you hold me close, you hold me tight,

Like this I could stay, could stay all night.

How can it be, that I found you

We met one day, then our Love grew.

Now in my arms, so peaceful you lay,

For you taught me to Love, to Love this way

-----------------------------

Although i have gone beyond what right or wrong.

I have gone to what is pure and real.

I have touched an inner space deep within my being.

And my body, and soul cries out with such joy.

With every breath, i breathe, it tightens at the

beauty of knowing what it feels like to be in love.

And although, the pain of being away from you is so

overwhelmingly hard to bare.

I have felt love. I have held you. I have touched you,

with a touch that can only be felt or given with

entire intensity, with such warmth that is created

because of my love for you.

As the touch i've given to you, and the touch you

shared with me.

A thousand feelings engross me, feelings that are

indescribable, yet so fiercely strong, and ruling

to my very essence.

Should i have, i can ask myself that a million times,

should i have met you.

I thought that meeting you would free my desire for you.

But it has only amplified, the deepest love that comes

from within me, for you.

And yet with all this love i feel, there is also a

hidden sadness.

A sadness that promises no one tomorrow.

That leaves your heart open with amazing clarity of want,

but closed to know if if will ever be reunited again.

So, with this, i must tell you,

that i have loved you, as i have never loved another.

I have shared not just my body, but who it is i am.

And no matter where our lives take us,

you and i have been to a place that -

is ours forever.

Maybe you were supposed to be my wife

or friend in these empty days.

Maybe it was no exorcism your blind soul

called for, but for a place

at this café table with me

where we, in coffee-dark glances,

in gasoline finger fire signs

could learn that every demon

is only an inverted angel.

Now there is merely some holy statue

hanging mutely from the oak branch

over a marble headstone

washed in the rain of twenty-five years

in a land my feet may never know.

You are as dead as my last cigarette

and my words are only impotent

rain and tears: It is all the same.

Weighted
Michael Gresley

deep twilight sky

not yet dark enough for stars

silky blue with viscous dimension

thin, continuous cloud

stretches from the horizon's points

a phantom arm holding the world

beneath it is the moon

the circle can be seen,

but the reflected light is merely a sliver

it lies on the bottom,

rather than the side,

heavy, weighted, just like this night

and my head

How did I arrive...here...

and where is here?

Can't stay...stillness is death...

so where do I go now that

I have arrived, and why?

in consideration of these queries,

I feel a strange indifference,

and I question its honesty

no choice is also a choice

a lack of control

desperate helplessness

to escape into the depths of blue

as dust

as a sound wave

as air

to curl within the phantom arm

to hang from the sliver

save me

forever is a long time

You
Lloyd D. Warrington

Miracles do happen

sometimes in my dreams,

sometimes when I'm awake

it seems.

I look into your deep blue eyes

the windows to your soul

I see the warmness of your heart

The mystery it beholds

god, I love your lips

as you drink your coffee I watch you sip

you stand and walk, coming towards me

instead you smile, the way it should be

I would like to follow you, not only with my eyes

I would like you to lead me to the bed where you lie

I hate myself for that, I do

I hate myself for giving in to you

------------------------------------

Hope is running to see me
Ryan Dyer

Fear is just now leaving

How many times have I wanted to die

As many nights have I been forced to lie

Left here with not a thing to live for

So I pray to the one who died

I tell him to help me through this time

One time before, you were my Christ

You are not here, left me with prosthetic lies

Alone I reflect at night

thinking of your wrists all the time

I search my reasons, there it is you I find

My heart is no longer mine

Life Strings
By Lloyd D. Warrington

Those who love and had loved

there is no such thing as to be prepared...

For the happiness and sadness relationships bring

this is but only one simple note on the life string

for there are many more notes that could be played

the question is are you or are you not afraid

but there is no need to be

for there is always someone standing by you

and that someone would be me your friend.

*REFLECTIONS*
*Anuradha Rath*

It's been a long, long time

since you walked out of my life;

everything's the same-only you aren't there.

Behind the hillock, the sun still rises and sets;

The summer is long gone taking away with it,

my dreams, my hopes, my joys-everything.

Rains came and went, yet

the fragrance of the wet earth still lingers

and brings with it-memories of yours.

Winter knocks at the doors & at dawn

when I open a sleepy eye, your presence lurks nearby

and the morning chill deserts me, making me warm all over.

It's been a lifetime since you've left,yet

I stand where you left me, my eyes transfixed on the road that you trod,

awaiting your return.

I know not whether you will, yet

I hope against hope, feigning forgetfulness, yet

behind that veil, tosses eternally-a wave of tears.

living off forever in the bottom of the sink.

Distant Memories
© Danielle Berry, 1998

A glance back through the twisted scenes

Feelings, thoughts, and what they mean

My last look through the closing door

Of timeless eras gone before

A baby cries; she wants her mom

Wakes her at the crack of dawn

From first day onward, she's unsure

She only wants to feel secure...

Sweet little girl with eyes of jade

Exalts in all the friends she's made

Her broken heart will start to mend

She'll never have to cry again

But whispered secrets haunt the air

Evil rumors dwelling there

One false word and all is lost

Yet *she* will have to pay the cost

She sings, she writes, she sobs, she screams

The medley of her shattered dreams

For no one aids her when she falls

No one seems to hear her calls

The bright-eyed girl has now become

Desensitized; withdrawn, and numb

She'll suck your blood and ruin lives

Anything... just to survive

Her last chance of escape, is now

She'll carry on, some way, somehow

Flee the bloody, broken past

And lay her soul to rest at last

Now here she stands between two worlds

The past disappearing; the future unfurls

With a sorrowful sigh she steps into the dawn

The sun rises...

...and she's gone.

LIFELONG LOVE
- ANCHAL GHAI

IN A CORNER OF THE ROOM

IN SWEET SILENT THOUGHT

A MAN THINKS OF A WOMAN

ONE WHICH HE HAS CAUGHT

HE DREAMS OF THE FUTURE

HE DREAMS OF THE PAST

ALL OF WHICH WILL REMIND HIM

OF THE LOVE THAT WILL LAST

HE THINKS OF HER SMILE

HE THINKS OF HER HAIR

ALL THAT IS HIS

AND NONE OTHERS TO SHARE

HE DREAMS OF THE NIGHT

THAT COMES AFTER DAY

THE SWEET SILENT PASSION

THAT IS THERE TO STAY

HE REMEMBER THE KISS

WHICH STARTED IT ALL

THE FIRST DAY THEY MET

HE BEGAN TO FALL

HE THINKS OF THE DAY

WHEN SHE GAVE HIM HER HEART

BECAUSE ON THAT DAY

THEIR LIFE TOGETHER HAD A START.

-----------------------------------

So where do these days come from when,

If I didn't know any better, I would

Think that we were nothing but a myth;

A dream waiting to take flight

A cloud on the verge of dispersing swiftly

and soundlessly into the atmosphere

of loneliness

Am I naive enough to be paranoid

Losing all common sense

Entertaining thoughts of letting go

And as suddenly as I am taken in by

These uncertainties, I find myself lost

in the wonder of your soul's company

He looks at me and I see him

As if there were no other person in the room I

see him

His heart is ablaze and the flames ignite the world that surrounds us

So we lose ourselves in this momentary dream of unattainable perfection

Leave the cruel world behind and let's

fly the moon, Love

Fly until tomorrow is a million cares away

Carry me on your silver wings

Paint the sky a brilliant blue

For if there was only today, I would still be in love with you

ALL THAT I ASK FOR
Azure

Disdain hovers above me,

Suspicion's made me blind.

I never noticed the tide had risen,

In the wasteland of my mind.

My once glittering Bay of hope,

I snow clouded by gray skies.

The water is rising, I'm almost submerged,

But I am paralyzed...I am sinking slowly,

Fading beneath the waves,

While off in the distance, unearthly voices,

Echo from the grave.

Pulled down by the silent current,

The Devil's wings hold me tight.

He brags of his lake of fire,

And the dark eternal night.

Sanity is slipping,

My broken soul begs for peace,

And all that I ask for,

Is to be released.

Where Do You Want to Go to, Today?
Max von Lindern

Day turns to night, night into day,

sit at the keyboard, pounding away,

scream at the server, when things go astray,

where do you want to go to, today?

Pages of a book are easy to see,

pages in the air? electronically?

Only mere words that ultimately,

forge a connection between you and me.

I write and you read, I read what you write,

not like a novel by candlelight,

More like the movies, radio, TV,

The Muses now visit digitally.

Literature is dead, long live the E!

Reload your browser inspirationally,

write the next classic, archive it away,

Where do you want to go to, today?

Misogynist
Robert Secord

They cum because i invited them

and i need for them to

but they're unaware, for the moment

that I despise them

not them per se

but my need for them

i'm weak

My needs are egotistical

sexual, domineering,

(adore me, covet me,

need for me to be one with you,

love me, LOVE ME)

is this all i have, or will ever have?

for my love transcends these emotions

the impudence of these desires

it does not live for the ephemeral

it's intellectually eternal

the essence of my being

my breath

It does not exist

i'm a misogynist

but my poetry does

i'm a poet?

The Rose
dapolarbear

Once upon a time

Or so the story goes

Standing in the desert

Stood a single rose

The rose was full of beauty

Its fragrance sweet to smell

But how it had survived

Not a soul could tell

Never did it wither

Never did it fade away

Never did it miss the chance

To welcome each new day

Always looking forward

Yet reaching for the sky

Always digging deeper

Yet wishing it could fly

To me you are the rose

Whose beauty none compare

Standing in the desert

Where it seems none would care

But little do you know

That despite your many tears

Someone in the distance

Has kept you all these years

Confessions
Karen Duffy

My love is writing, I long to be heard.

When no one will listen, I start writing words.

People read what I write in the paper each week,

not knowing the high and the wonder I seek.

One day I'll be famous for the things I have written,

and the reason will be is that no one will listen.

" A loving nightmare " -- "Dreams of deceit"
GradSears

Darkness releases the pain,

Chaotic immeasurable mass,

Tempered nerves flared to edge,

Nightmares that will not fade.

Nights luminous clock, sieves the time,

Torture relentless, thus unbearing,

Feelings drowned by the hated flood,

Sinking is he from the flow of his blood.

Silence awakens the internal flame,

Passive thoughts driven to rage,

The Devils test yields no prey,

To succumb appears the only way.

Fighting seconds continuous in their toll,

Endless this entity trapped within his soul,

Dawn will rise as if never set,

With the memories of the lies,

And the realm of his debt.

'LIFE'
-VENUS ESPINOZA

LIFE TREATS ME IN A WAY THAT NO ONE WOULD UNDERSTAND

IT HAS A WAY OF TELLING ME SOMEONE CARES

LIKE IN THE LITTLE WAYS

WHEN THE SUN SHINES

WARMS ME INSIDE, AS IT WATCHES OVER ME

TELLS ME THERE'S HOPE

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NONE

SHOWS THERE IS A WAY

A PATH FROM WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT STRAY

BUT THE PATH OF LIFE ONLY GUIDES YOU

WHETHER YOU GO WHERE IT PLANS IS UP TO YOU

YOUR LIFE IS IN YOUR OWN HANDS

SO TAKE LIFE AS A GIFT

AND TREAT IT AS IT TREATS YOU

FOR YOU BEHOLD THE FUTURE

*Something More Than Wednesday*
by Megan O'Reilly
.

Choked on your cologne as you walked out,

one two three four...

it always took five steps to the door,

which was made of cellophane and crumbled,

as did I.

I don't forget that December was the

swollen month, my cigarette thighs were

the base of a volcano that blew love through

my lips into his.

Winter brought screaming avalanches to my

sweating palms; the naked bodies summer refused

to show were transparent through our snowsuits.

But apathy comes with the prelude, and the ladybugs

are in season. I am something new to them, but they

seem to be the cousins who wore out their welcome.

I long for something more than Wednesday.

I Love You...farewell
anjli

Cloudless night

stars burning like eyes of a fearless tiger

sparkling diamonds against a deep black velvet sky

distant thunder rumbling

Yet, there is no rain

cool breezes sweep the land

A lover gently fondling his dying lover's hair

yes, dying

for amid the beauty, the tranquillity

the hopes of unity a

dark hand waves a tapestry

a tapestry of hate and vengeance

Angles of glorious white light counter

shrieks of pain, howls of agony which

permeates the thick dreary air

Death is near

Death is among them

she whispers "I love you" and her voice lingers

farewell my love...farewell...

The Cancer Inside:

The golden sun burns brightly

Setting in the evening sky

I sit alone quietly

Wishing that I would not die

A spring breeze began to blow

It ran through all of my hair

My memories started to flow

Then I sighed because you weren't there

Three months ago I was told

About my deadly disease

Now I must be brave and bold

In this life, it is my fee

In the end I am alone

Good-bye love, I'm going home.

It's better to love and lose, than to of never loved at all.

Took me a while to get over some of it, I still think Its going to be a while before I forget.

I'm Sorry if I caused you any trouble, pain, or anger.

Sorry for it all.

Please burn this letter, and return the ashes. Help me forget this hole in my heart, the cloud in my head, and the scars on my soul.

THE RUN
witch empress

Death approached too late my notice

And my soul it came upon

When all of the sudden

It disappeared and was gone.

My thoughts widely wandered

As the recognition of life came to me

And while I sat and pondered,

I had to save myself and flee.

I ran forever over many miles

And came to many, many things.

Also I encountered a few smiles

From a few friends and other beings

I thought I was far enough

But low and behold this was the start

For Death had hidden and called my bluff

And planned it out on his chart

My life is a great run from Death

And no one knows when it will end

But when I cease to take a breath,

I will say goodbye to you, my friend.

His face is like an angel,

his eyes light up a room.

I thought he could be the one

to fix my broken heart of two.

When he speaks to me, I melt,

like the wax of a burning candle.

When he holds me in his arms,

I feel safe and under the aegis of his love.

Then, on a dark and dreay day,

he took my heart, held it in his hand,

and dashed it into oblivion.

I could feel the life it once had,

draining, leaving me forever.

It stopped beating, it stopped the blood from flowing.

I lie on my bed crying, caterwauling,

waiting for someone to revive me.

But instead, I laid there and died.

My life was over and the one who I thought could fix me,

broke me again, and

now I'm gone and will never be again.

(This is for all the people I hate and the people that hate me)

Why me?

Why does this stuff always happen to me?

What did I do to deserve this?

Do you hate me?

Why not just say it then?

Instead of stabbing me in the back,

Gain some courage,

Stab me in the front,

Why go on with this charade?

Why stab me with the blade

The blade of your deception and greed

You were only in it for yourself,

SELFISH FOOL!!!!!

You got involved in my affairs,

Had no right to,

So now I hate you,

Hope your sad and miserable till your dying day,

I must run away,

From the thoughts in my mind,

To escape the false memories I had of you,

As my friend,

As my ace,

But now I wish to see blood upon your face,

Your blood pouring from you,

After you realize what I'm about to do,

To you,

And then I would laugh as they pull your body from the gutter,

And I opened my veins so i can meet you,

Greet you,

And welcome you to your new home,

MY HELL!!!!!

My dark and eternal abyss,

The one you forced me into,

And now you shall share in my fate,

As I kill you over and over,

Do I make you smile and make you happy just by being me?

World With Vision
-Mike Paniccia
-

Suppose everyone suddenly had lost their sight,

and to do what, in their eyes, they felt was right,

they'd learn to face the world again,

this time, though, using feeling as they went.

Warring of nations would come to an end,

none really having the better view.

And then all races would naturally blend,

none really caring which color are you.

Could you really say such a world was blind,

all being of such superior minds?

Perhaps then if sight was restored to them

they'd not really need it, and would use feeling again.

------------------------------

I write this according to now in this time and frame of mind.

In side the mind lies a different time that I know all to true that describes me and you. If you know all that is known you are put here in this place of contemplation that all is to true in the heart of me and you. Once while wandering in the space of human race I decided that I will become the father of the sun and run around the fun in the things done.

Once the things I've done become one with the sun I'm the one who sung the song of the lonely one who needs one more. More to settle the score of the tide that rushes under the door. Feelings of desire come like my entire life to design my time into the new life of the eagle who lets me retrieve the things I've seen on this mountain top of dreams, until I decide I have found you there but maybe you didn't care at all then who are you to decide who I am in this crazy land of the unplanned undecided future. I'll take the time to define to you who we are with the lightning at my side, I will describe what can not be described untill you realize my reasoning of the feeling at hand. It explodes at my hand but goes unnoticed in the regular world of commercials and bullshit of the times when once again I find that I was born out of my own time in space and now I contemplate the fate of everything I seen. If you here and if you care of the world as it slips away while you decide to give all that you can. Lend us a hand. peace love and happy coincidences,

"Sadness"
Sherrie Waring

Yes, I have seen sadness.

A woman beaten, standing on a street corner.

A child, fully clothed and well fed, yet, alone.

I have seen sadness.

Many times, in my own eyes.

My grave cannot be a better place for me.

Yes, I have seen sadness that congests the streets with hungry mouths to feed.

With faces that cannot read and I have hurt because my own fate lies in what

these think.

Yes, I have seen sadness of my own darkened years.

Of hatred and anger,

Of all my fears,

Of being alone to feel the sadness I have seen.

Lost Love
-Jeremy Dean

Oh how I long to see you,

to look upon your face.

Or take you in my arms one time,

for a single warm embrace.

Since that chance encounter,

my heart's been full of joy.

Me, I'm just a memory now,

my love, it's still your toy.

The past is not the present,

nor will it ever be.

And history would not repeat itself,

If you'd return to me.

Broken Thoughts
Christina Mariea

do the thoughts in your mind

end up in suppressed tears

the few memories you have

of all the lost years

sometimes not really sure

of why existent fears

have you torn inside

so no one hears

all the pain within

where the anguish leers

but it's crossed a time

when your heart does know

you can't possibly live on

feeling like so

with that you look up

open the door and go

to a whole new step

to a whole new flow

in remembering this

the change will show
